- CalAC-Web (Updated 04/02/19) CalAC-Web is an online program to design rehabilitation alternatives for flexible pavements. This program follows a procedure similar to the Windows-based version, CalAC. The recent changes in design policy have been incorporated into the new version. Please follow the link and register an account to start using the program.
- CalFP-Web (Updated 04/02/19) CalFP-Web is a program to design new pavement alternatives for flexible pavements. This program follows a procedure similar to Windows-based version, CalFP. The recent changes in design policy have been incorporated into the new version. Please follow the link and register an account to start using the program. CalAC-Web and CalFP-Web has been verified to produce results consistent with CalAC and CalFP, respectively.
- RealCost v2.5CA (ZIP) LCCA (Life-Cycle Cost Analysis) is an analytical technique that is built on well-founded economic principles to evaluate long-term alternative investment options. The analysis enables the total cost comparison of competing pavement design (new or rehabilitation) alternatives, each of which would be appropriate for implementation to the roadway being considered.
- CalME is a software program developed by Caltrans/UCPRC using the Mechanistic-Empirical (ME) methodologies for analyzing and designing the performance of flexible pavements. CalME uses an 'incremental recursive' (I-R) approach that models the entire damage process, not just the initial condition after construction and the final failure condition. Instead, CalME simulates the pavement performance starting from the initial undamaged pavement stress, strain, and deformation responses to temperature and load to the end failure state. A web-based Version 3.0 of CalME is currently being developed and calibrated to accommodate wider range of materials. At this time it is not available for private use; it is only available to use for Caltrans projects. CalAC-Web, CalFP-Web, and CalME V3.0 are hosted on the same website and share the same user interface.Amazon.com: colin mcrae rally 2005. Skip to main content. - Rehabilitation, pavement preservation and reconstruction
- New materials and in-place recycling
- Construction quality
- CalBack is a software developed by Caltrans/UCPRC to backcalculate layer moduli of flexible and rigid pavements using FWD deflection data collected from existing pavements. CalBack contains specific features pertinent to California and is designed to work stand-alone, or in concert with the flexible pavement design and analysis software CalME. CalBack has significant versatility via three deflection-matching search engines; three response models for flexible pavements; Westergaard model for rigid pavements; and a large, self-contained, expandable material characterization database.

The traffic pattern has changed since then and so has the technology. The volume of tandem, tridem and multi-axle vehicles has increased manifold and heavier axle loads are common. Since pavements are constructed as per the standards. Since 1987 it has been part of the Austroads Pavement Design Guide, the standard for road design in Australia and New Zealand. CIRCLY 7.0 uses a rigorous flexible pavement design approach. It uses state-of-the-art pavement material properties and performance models. It calculates the cumulative damage induced by the traffic spectrum.
- Calculate MSA (Million standard axles) and VDF (Vehicle damage factor) by Importing Traffic Survey Data and Axle Load Survey.
This module is used for the calculation of MSA and VDF for the design of flexible pavement thickness. It mainly caters and follows the guidelines as specified in Relevant Indian Road Congress (IRC) Codes. This module can be used for the analysis of VDF (Vehicle Damage Factor) and MSA (Million standard axles). The information obtained can be used in the final computation of pavement layers.
MSA(Million Standard Axle), is used for Designing of the Pavement. In the Indian context, the standard axle is defined as an axle having four wheels, two on either side having tyre pressure of approximately 0.56 MPa and carrying a total load of 80 kN.
Indian Roads Congress has specified the design procedures for flexible pavements based on CBR values. These guidelines will apply to the design of flexible pavements for Expressway, National Highways, State Highways, Major District Roads and other categories of roads.
The vehicle damage factor (VDF) is a multiplier for converting the number of commercial vehicles of different axle loads and axle configurations to the number of standard axle-load repetitions. It is defined as the equivalent number of standard axles per commercial vehicle. The VDF varies with the axle configuration, axle loading, terrain, type of road, and from region to region. The axle load equivalency factors are used to convert different axle load repetitions into equivalent standard axle load repetitions. For these equivalency factors refer to IRC:37 2001. The exact VDF values are arrived after extensive field surveys.
You can easily use the MSA/VDF Module of ESurvey Trans Software for calculation of Million Standard Axles and Vehicle Damage Factor for the design of flexible pavement thickness. You can obtain these values in simple steps.
1. Enter Project Details and values for Lane Distribution Factor, Directional Distribution Factor, No. Of years for MSA Calculation and Minimum VDF in Settings. Enter the Vehicle Type and the respective codes and Axle weights.
2. Import the field data obtained from field studies along specified stretches of roads, and save it into the module.
3. The VDF (Vehicle Damage Factor) and MSA (Million standard axles) analysis report can be obtained, which can be exported to an editable excel file. This Report shows the Traffic, Rate of the Growth, VDF and MSA (Yearly and Cumulative) year-on- year for the specified period.
You can also update the Growth Rate of Vehicle manually and obtain the MSA Report. This information can be used to compute the Flexible Pavement Design.

Help
In this module of ESurvey Trans, you can Calculate MSA (Million Standard Axles) and VDF (Vehicle Damage Factor) by Importing Traffic Survey Data and Axle Load Survey.
First, you need to create a new file and update settings.
Create a New File
To create a new file, in the File menu, click New File.
In the window that opens, Enter the name of the file and click Save.
Settings
To update settings, in the Main menu, click Settings.
Flexible Pavement Design software, free download. software
In the window that opens, enter General settings in General Tab.
Enter the Project Name, Year of Survey, Proposed Completion Year and Default Traffic Growth (%) and click Save.
Enter details of the Homogeneous Sections.
Note: Homogeneous sections are identified based on the reconnaissance survey and Road Inventory surveys based on the condition of the existing pavement. This survey is done mainly to identify the sections where BBD surveys are to be conducted.
Click Homogenous Sections Tab. List all section ranges for Overlay and New Construction Segments and Click Save to save the details.
Click VDF and MSA Tab. Enter values for Lane Distribution Factor, Directional Distribution Factor, No. of years for MSA Calculation and Minimum VDF and Click Save to save the details.
For doing the MSA/VDF analysis, In Main Menu, click MSA/VDF.
In the VDF Analysis window that opens, click the Direction 1 Tab. Input Data for Direction 1.
Before you enter the Direction 1 details, you can define Vehicle Type by clicking on theCodes button.
Note:
The codes are to be provided in the standard formats based on their axle configuration. For example, Tandem, tridem, etc. Please refer the IRC code” irc.gov.in.037.2012” for more details
Similarly, click Direction 2 Tab and Input Vehicle data of Direction 2.
The VDF (Vehicle Damage Factor) and MSA (Million standard axles) analysis report can be obtained, which can be exported to an editable excel file.
In MSA tab, to Export MSA details, select a Year in the grid and then click on the Export button.
This Report shows the Traffic, Rate of the Growth, VDF and MSA (Yearly and Cumulative) year-on- year for the specified period.
